# 1. Into aphotic depths I seek
Down a blistering shard of phosphorescent light
Where these tortuous dendrites weave
Sphinx-like, beyond my sight.
Embracing blackness, arms out-reached
I trace bedrock for a place to lie.
# 2. Leatherbound, dusty and dry as bone
Warm golden ratios, Euclidean lines
The smell of paper feels like home;
Resonant tremors down my spine.
As vistas soar in parallax shifts, just the same cognition drifts:
Fast and slow at the same time.
# 3. Cleanliness meets Godliness; our petri dish processes.
I’m on my knees at this Titan’s feet:
“Bear me an oracle of wave and particle.
Resplendent, the future that we foresee
Immortalise the schemes of our ritual.”
Vast ecosystems bloom, in its palm tightly clasped
As magnetic tides surge from its cupreous hearts.
Its gaze stretches deep, over magnitudes cosmic
Down to black and white worlds of ball and stick
# 4. This glass-born life-form blinks her thousand eyes
Shotgun saccades fracture phalanx formations.
Every facet thousands of times… stranger than imagination.
Inverting her skin, obliquely she glides: in Escher tessellations.
Cataplexically, it gets to me; perplexingly frail;
Calcified, she shatters disfigured and pale
Chladni sand cardiographs swept far away.
I fear her afterimage stays.
# 5. From these dove-white temples, I drop chalk-white robes
These were brave-white spaces that I’ve grown to know.
Iridescent birdsong laces morning air home…
Transfixed. A collision on Oxford road.
Bodies: Silver and red; old and coeval. Screeching weave curvatures, unpredictable.
Smoke laces clouds; anatomy cracked. One crumpled upright; one on his back.
Despairingly trapped, they’re shredding down doors.
I’ve never seen such a thing before.
#6. Was out of my hands:
First time feeling fingertips.
Could not understand.
